I have a friendly, relaxed approach to teaching and love the aspect of helping people learn something I am so passionate about. I've played the drums since I was a child and haven't stopped tapping since I picked up my first set of sticks.
Over the years I have been in many bands, playing cool chilled funk music to thrashing out in psychedelic rock groups.
Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, work towards grades and improve sight-reading skill, or get better technique; my goal is to inspire you to inject your own personality behind the kit, explore your creativity, and have confidence behind the kit where you feel comfortable. From there we can expand in all directions.
“Achieving success in music is by no means an easy task, and at Drum Lessons Derby we cannot emphasise enough how anyone can learn to play the drums if they are dedicated and passionate about the instrument”
I've always been interested in music and have studied Music Technology at Confetti Studios in Nottingham. Here I learnt a lot about recording techniques and the pre and post-production that goes on.
Since then I have been in the studio many times to do session work for bands, or even just to record my self-jamming to get ideas for future songs. I found recording myself was one of the best ways to improve my playing as I could listen back in detail for anything that could be improved.
Drums are a very rewarding instrument and there are endless possibilities within them. So to book your first lesson or find out more information please don't hesitate to get in touch via info@drumlessonsderby.com.
